COUNTERTOP REPAIR KIT
Formica Countertops
Step 1) Lightly sand the repair area with 400 grit sandpaper, rinse, allow to dry. Step 2) Mix your color to match Step 3) Apply the color mixture using the spreader provided. Be sure to push mixture into the damaged area. Apply in layers for deep repairs, allowing each layer to dry to the touch before applying more layers. Scrape off any excess color using the spreader edge. Allow final repair to dry up to 24 hours depending on how deep the repair is. Step 4) If repairing a high gloss countertop once the repair has dried 24 hours, sand the patch level if needed then apply the clear coat with the brush supplied in the kit. Blend the clear coat into the surrounding surface it will dry clear. (Large or deep repairs may need more time to dry ) If repairing a matte or semi-sheen countertop, apply the color mixture and allow to dry up to 24 hours as needed. Matte finishes require no clear coat. On semi-sheen countertops, lightly wet a smooth cloth with some clear coat and buff the patch area to desired sheen.
Note: To ease spreading of colors, the containers may be warmed by placing in a plastic zip lock bag and soaking in warm water for 3 minutes.
Corian Countertops
If repairing light scratches, lightly sand the scratches out with the 400 grit sand paper and water, rinse, allow to dry, then apply the clear coat to a smooth damp cloth and buff to desired shine. If repairing deep scratches or burns Step 1) Lightly sand the damaged area with 400 grit sand paper, rinse, allow to dry. Step 2) Mix your color to match Step 3) Apply the color mixture using the spatula provide. Be sure to push mixture into the damaged area. Apply in layers for deep repairs, allowing each layer to dry to the touch before applying more layers. Scrape off any excess color using the edge of the spreader. Allow to dry up to 24 hours as needed. Step 4) Once the repair has dried 24 hours, sand the patch level if needed then apply the clear coat with the brush supplied in the kit. Blend the clear coat into the surrounding surface it will dry clear. (Large or deep repairs may need more time to dry.
Cultured Marble Countertops
The steps for cultured marble are the same as Corian.
(If colors are thick, you can heat in warm water for 3 minutes)
