First you will have to rough sand the gelcoat on your spa hot tub to accept the paint. Then wash down the surface following the instructions incuded with the kit. Once dry you can then apply your first coat of paint. Pick a day where no rain, high winds or dew is expected. Allow the first coat to dry for 24 hours or until the coating is no longer tacky.

On the second day you can apply another coat of paint allowing it to dry for 24 hours. Once completely dry you can add water to the spa hot tub and add chemicals to balance the water.

Caring For Your Refinished Hot Tub

The epoxy paint applied to your spa hot tub is chemical resistant and very durable as it is 100% epoxy with no other additives other then the tint color if used. This makes for a long lasting durable high gloss finish that will last for over 10 years with proper care. As the finish is a paint you never want to use harsh chemicals or abrasives to clean your spa hot tub.

To clean use a mild detergent and soft cloth to wipe down you spa. Keep sharp or metal objects out of the spa to avoid scratching or chipping the epoxy paint. If this happens you can use one of our repair kits to fix it.
